Bin thinken again. There is no racing for classics in NSW because of lack of support between the clubs. What do people think about an HMRAV / HRR managed and promoted event?
We could have a regularity style included because they do that in NSW, a full card of races along the lines of the HMRAV events, costs may be similar to racing at Broadford.
Camping may be possible, the event may have a unique name and even be a more 'commercial' style of event from the point of view of hardnosed advertising and promotion, some involvement with the local shire for tourism funding etc.
Your thoughts are most welcome.

John, I don't think we should be worrying about N.S.W. They are big enough to conduct their own meetings even if they are too silly to get together to make it happen. In my opinion there is a need for another historic meeting in Victoria and if Bob is serious about getting Calder up and running I think we should support him. If Calder doesn't eventuate then Broadford would be the obvious choice. Cheers, John |

It is just a personal view to try and use tracks we dont normally get to. The HMRAV committee is not really keen on the idea at the moment but we have not sat around a table to discuss it anyway.
We are currently working on a club day at the new Haunted hills Hillclimb circuit. |

I think the haunted hills idea is a good one. |

not a bad idea initself JD,JF HRR isn't/hasn't the membership platform big enough anymore to stand alone,( or the bank bal)thats the whole problem,PCRA's certainly grown with the influx of "new era" riders etc,you only have to look at the past Barry Sheene meetings to see how strong it's become, next easters BSM "carnival"concepts going to be huge, but it's become a fine line between $ for rides value balance, especially single bike entry rides,(exactly why track days are so popular, more laps for your $'s),HMRAV has comprehensivley set the bar for (original)historic racing, thats why so many interstaters will make the trip,Island Classics another same styled meeting, grass roots racing, only missing out because of non camping issues, but compensated by the island culture itself,so summing up not such a bad idea at all JD, Wakefeild is within striking distance for Vic riders ,especially if campings allowed, but it's been awhile since i personally have ridden there,so not sure what present policies are in place, interesting concepts as always John, good thought, cheers Mick |

Currently my committee is concerned about having too many events for our small committee to manage.
Maybe we need to get some helpers on board to take thsi project on board. |
