Remember when Orrie brought the Rennsport BMW 500 outfit back home, and raced it at Phillip Island? Apparently Stan Bayliss ended up with it. When Stan died his wife had it and some guy in a Queensland country town bought it to build it into a solo racer. Seems a pity to me. The bike was the genuine Sidecar GP racer, the sort of thing that was totally unobtanium to us in the old days.

Is your machine authentic or merely eligible? |

Thing was this rennsport was an RS51 long stroke and the RS54 was the motor with the history- but a Rennsport anyway. When I last seen the frame it was in long grass at Stans however its owner now asked where he could get a copy of my period sidecar guard,so you never know, come on Neal keep it as a sidecar! |

All sports have trouble with top 10's, or 11, or 18 (the proper footy)
All eras are different but how could Harry Hinton Snr be left out ?
A few more notable names from the past (there would be many more ) :- Don Bain,Frank Mussett,Frank Pratt,Lloyd Hirst,Tony McAlpine,Ken Kavanagh(TT winner) Keith Campbell (350 World Champ) Jack Findlay,Bill Horsman,(Historic ManxGP winner) & still winning in historics. Sid Willis,Les Diener,Ted Carey in the 250 class. Many of there started on their home built specials |
