I recently realised that a racer was off work for 12 months because of a crash. His hope being revolved around bike racing and the people there.
I have now encouraged him to come to a race meeting and help run the event and he would at least get a chance to catch up with blokes on Sat. night.
I have since put the idea to my HMRAV committee for consideration and I am now asking if others would help us to get something happening, if there is support for the idea. Nmaes of people we could assist would be welcome.
Thanks

I am looking at a general issue rather than one individual.
His injury situation was what triggered my thinking.
I assume phone calls, a lift to the track, a task at the track to keep them occuopied and busy if possible.

John,

It is a sound idea and I'm sure most would support it, more detail would be helpful - for example do you have a race meeting in mind? What kind of help is needed - does this fellow need picked up and dropped home for example? Helped to get around while at the track? Some costs covered??

is there no support for this idea?
